The Wilkie Kindergarten Association elected a new executive: Mrs. Donna Risling, president; Mrs. Margaret Skinner, vice-president; Mrs. Lois Stang, secretary; and Mrs. Myrna Sander, treasurer.
In local softball action, the top five hitters were Eric Schell, Scott, .647; Larry Safronetz, Ruth, .564; Herb Schell, Scott, .552; Val Schwab, Scott, .524; and George Huber, Scott, .484. Despite the Scott team’s batting strength, the Ruth team was undefeated with 11 wins, leading the league.
Saskatoon Pioneer Days was advertising their entertainment lineup: Charlie Farquharson as MC, and performers were the Stampeders, Bobby Vinton and Ray Price.

Staffing the Wilkie swimming pool for the summer were lifeguards Amber Miller, Jessica Sarenco, Kendra Sittler, Cassie Culbertson, Chantelle Bedier, Danica Miller, Brittany Bachman, Alex Van De Meutter, Jacki Sieben and Sarah Shepherd.
Principal Cathy Herrick left Unity Composite High School in order to take the assistant director position in the Landswest School Board office. Vice-principal Todd Schmenkel was moving up to become principal and Maureen Robertson was becoming the new vice-principal.
