SASKATOON – Three individuals are facing multiple charges following a drug trafficking investigation that led to a traffic stop and a search warrant execution on Feb. 27.
At approximately 2 p.m. on Feb. 27, the Saskatoon Police Crime Reduction Team, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Kerr Road. During the stop, a 25-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested without incident.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 100 block of Hedley Street. Police arrested a 24-year-old man at the location.
During the search, officers seized a significant quantity of illicit substances and items associated with drug trafficking. The items seized include:
- 172.9 grams of cocaine
- 36.4 grams of Psilocybin (magic mushrooms)
- 15.6 grams of MDMA
- 14 Oxycodone pills
- $14,715 in cash
- Cellular phones
- Digital scales
- Packaging consistent with drug trafficking
- Two machetes
- .22 calibre ammunition
- 12-gauge shotgun ammunition
- Various items related to proceeds of crime, including a 2003 Lexus SUV
- Two packages of illegal cigarettes
All three individuals now face 15 charges related to drug possession and trafficking, as well as possession of proceeds of crime valued over $5,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
