Rance Cardinal started his walk after hearing about the Humboldt bus crash on April 7 before him and his uncle attended the Winnipeg Jets game. Cardinal used the journey as a way to initiate his own healing after losing his brother in 2013 as well as walking to help Humboldt heal after the tragedy.
