The Sask. Party romped to victory across the province Monday night, and long time NDP 小蓝视频 Len Taylor was one of those who fell in the rampage.
Taylor turns the page on a distinguished career that has seen him serve at the local, provincial and national level as a representative for the people of the Battlefords and the Northwest.
As health minister, as interim leader of the opposition, as an 小蓝视频 sitting in opposition fighting for the best for his constituents and as a city councillor, Taylor always approached his job with enthusiasm, integrity and class.
Whatever his plans for the future, we would be remiss in not expressing thanks on behalf of his constituents for the years he has devoted to representing them and their interests.
New to the political stage is the Saskatchewan Party's Herb Cox, who ran an energetic campaign and was careful to ensure his supporters didn't become complacent in the face of opinion polls heavily favouring a Sask. Party win.
Cox has some large shoes to fill in representing the Battlefords and many will be watching to see if the promise of having a representative on the government side of the house will see the steps forward - particularly toward replacing Saskatchewan Hospital - materialize.
Congratulations to all the candidates in the Battlefords. It was an interesting campaign with an interesting conclusion. Democracy lives here.
