Under current law, the unborn has no recognition as a person until fully born. This dates back hundreds of years, before science proved that 100 per cent of what we are is contained in our DNA at the time of conception. The only things that change are our size and level of independence.
Apparently to recognize the obvious, that is, a fully-formed baby is as fully human a second before birth as it is a second after, causes Canadians to ask why we have zero protection for the unborn.
The pro-abortion crowd is happy with current laws as it allows complete freedom to terminate as they see fit. Reasons to abort can be from the very serious to what we once termed frivolous. Many perfect girls are aborted because, well, they are girls.
Canadians think of Canada to be a highly civilized nation.
Banishment of capital punishment for even the most heinous crimes is believed to separate us from the barbaric countries. Yet Canada stands alone for rights of the unborn.
It is time we deal with a truth, a truly inconvenient truth, that human life does not begin once we are separated from our mother's body.
