Last fall, I wrote a letter to the editor inquiring as to why the chartered banks in our community had not, at that time, committed any funding to our community's multiplex project. Since then, the RBC financial institution has provided financial support, although the other chartered banks have not. Again that raises the question as to where those other banks are in support our multiplex.
We see the long list of businesses, organizations and individuals who have committed funding to the multiplex and observe that they recognize the importance of this much needed addition to our community. Why don't the banks? It certainly can't be a lack of financial resources, as we all see and hear reports of their annual profits.
Perhaps it is time to ask for some official, public responses from these banks in regards to their lack of support of the multiplex project. I am certain the local media could be most helpful in investigating this matter and providing their findings to the community.
Again, where are the banks in supporting our mutlipex?
