TURUK: In Loving Memory of Alex Turuk who was born August 12, 1928 at Poland and passed away July 31, 2011 at Battleford, SK. Alex is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sylvia; loving children and grandchildren: Alan (Tracey) Turuk: Jamie, Brittany, Steele and Kim; Elaine (D'Arcy) Hildebrand: Vanessa and Graham; his brother, Colin (Adele) Turuk; his sister, Nina Smith, sister-in-law, Olga Turuk, nieces, nephews and their families. Alex was predeceased by his parents, Nick & Olga Turuk; brother, Bill and infant sister, Sonia; his son, Danny; nephew, Gary; brother, Sam Turuk; brother-in-law, Don Smith and in-laws, George and Rose Surmach. The Funeral Service was held Friday, August 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Battleford United Church, Battleford, SK with Rev. Nora Borgeson officiating. Shared Memories were given by Jamie & Brittany Turuk, Vanessa & Graham Hildrebrand, Nina Smith and Colin Turuk. Music Ministry was Organist, Mrs. M. Junice Headley and Battleford United Church Choir. The Honourary Pallbearers were Dave Hilsendager, Gardon McKay, Bill Turuk, Fred Turuk, Jim Wright, Joe Beckman, Lloyd Beckman and John Koluk and Active Pallbearers were Wesley Turuk, Wayne Turuk, Daryl Turuk, Richard Risling, Daryl Nelson, Kelly Rumpf and Travis Wolfe. Memorials are requested to "Hands of Friendship Auxiliary" ~ Battlefords District Care Centre, Box 69, Battleford, SK S0M 0E0. Interment took place at City Cemetery, North Battleford, SK. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Battlefords Funeral Service. 446-4200 Card of Thanks The family of Alex Turuk thank Dr. Morton, the nurses and staff, for the excellent care and compassion that Alex received while at Battleford Regional Care Venter.
