SACK: Torrance "Torry" - October 14, 1946 - May 16, 2011. On Monday, May 16, 2011, Torrance Sack, resident of Grovedale, Alberta, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 64 years. He was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on October 14, 1946 to Muriel and Ronald Sack. Torry went to school at Battleford Collegiate Institute where he completed grade 11.At age 20, Torry moved to Alberta. He married his first wife, Rita and moved to Grande Prairie in 1968 where they had 3 daughters. In 1976, he met his new love, Carol. They married in 1976 and moved to Grovedale where they had and raised 3 more daughters. Torry realized his dream of owning land. Torry will always be remembered by his devotion to his family, friends and community. He always demonstrated a strong work ethic and was exceptionally proud of his wife, his girls, his friends, his farm and his animals. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Kathleen and brother Murray. He is survived by his wife Carol; daughters: Sheila Lougheed, Lori (Shawn) Russett, Becky Sack, Debbie Sack (Kurt Robideau), Shauna (Brian) Dewhurst, and Stacie Sack; grandchildren: Darian, Maegan, Spencer, Oliver, and Marshal. His sister Dana and brothers, Ron (Donna), Ken (Sharon), Bruce (Irene), Garth, Jim (Gail), Doug, Darren (Nancy), as well as numerous relatives and friends. There will be a social memorial held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm at the Grovedale Hall in Grovedale, Alberta. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the QEII Hospital Foundation for the Grande Prairie Cancer Clinic.
