GRAVER , Katherine Rita (Hartman) Graver passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 16, 2011 at River Heights Lodge in North Battleford at the age of 89 years.

GRAVER , Katherine Rita (Hartman) Graver passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 16, 2011 at River Heights Lodge in North Battleford at the age of 89 years. She was born June 8, 1921 at Handel, SK where she grew up, attended Farmer School, and where she met her husband Stanley. They farmed in the Handel district until they moved to Battleford in 1980. She was active in the CWL and general leader of the Handel 4-H club for many years. She was a great seamstress, loved her flower garden and her door was always open to her neighbours. She and Stan traveled extensively to the States and Europe, and spent their summers at Aquadeo. Katherine was predeceased by her husband Stanley, son Douglas, parents Mary and SP Hartman, grandsons Boyd and Laurie. She is survived by her children: Joan (Wilbert) Basler, Marie (Jim) Schommer, Fred (Lynn) Graver, Shirley (Ralph) Schommer, and Louise (Mel) Leonard; many grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters. Prayers were held at 8:00 pm on Thursday May 19 from St Vital Roman Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held on Friday May 20 at 10:30 am, also from St. Vital Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Greg Elder as Celebrant. Interment took place at the Handel Cemetery. Memorial donations in Katherine's memory may be made to the Battlefords Pro-Life (Box 282, North Battleford, SK S9A 2Y3) or to Masses.
