ELLIOTT , DOROTHY LOUISA; November 3, 1920 - April 6, 2011. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye. Doll died peacefully at Augustine House, Ladner, BC on April 16, 2011 in her 90th year. Doll is survived by her sons David (Wendie) and Donald (Nicole) (Montreal), four grandchildren, Jessica (Greg), Patrick, Stephanie, Melanie and great-granddaughter Maelle Elliott Alston, daughter of Jessica and Greg. Doll is also survived by three brothers in Ontario; Len (Barb), Bob (Marion), Bill (Sheila) and sister-in-law Bubbles (Chuck). She was predeceased by her husband Larry who died November 29th, 2010 and her brothers Ron, Chuck and Ken. As the oldest child and only daughter, she assisted her mother in raising her six brothers. In 1945 she married Larry. When he retired in 1983 they moved from Montreal (St. Lambert) to Ladner, BC. In 2008 they sold the home they loved and moved to Augustine House where, together they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in July, 2010. Over the years she enjoyed and was well recognized for her curling. Gardening, cooking and lawn bowling kept her busy. Doll especially enjoyed her many trips to Palm Springs with Larry, and Hawaii and Mexico with the family. She was a proud and supportive wife and mother, well respected and intensely loved. Our family thanks the wonderful staff in Haven House Dementia Unit in Augustine House for their compassionate care, respect and kindness given to Doll these last three years.
