Ron was predeceased by his parents, Florence and Wells Dearborn; an infant daughter; three brothers: David, Wilbert and Russel; sister, Ethel and brother-in-law Bruce Butterfield; sisters-in-law: Kathleen, Alice and Cora Dearborn. Ron was also predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Kathleen and Clyde Ricketts; brother-in-law, Floyd and wife Jo Ricketts and their son Steven and sister-in-law, Edith Ricketts. A Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving for Ronald's Life was held Monday, March 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Third Avenue United Church, North Battleford, SK with Rev. Fred J. Tinio officiating. Shared Memories were given by Walter Jess and "Remembering Grandpa" by the Grandchildren. Gifts of Music were presented by Organist/Pianist ~ Jaya Hoy; Soloist ~ Robert MacKay sang "In The Garden" and Hymn Selections were "Softly and Tenderly", "Bringing In The Sheaves" and "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus". The Urn Bearer was Brennan Dearborn. Ron was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ron was really proud of his family and grandchildren and their achievements. He always was so happy when the little ones were around, be it grandchildren or great-grandchildren. Ron loved his life on the farm. When Blair started farming he said he was glad the responsibility wasn't his, but he loved helping out with whatever he could do, especially hauling grain in the fall which he did in his 87th year. He also enjoyed camping with family and friends. He also liked coffee with friends at MacDonalds, even after he lost his speech. Everyone was so good to include him. Our thanks to everyone. Memorials are requested to River Heights Lodge Auxiliary, 2001 - 99th St, North Battleford, SK S9A 0S3. Interment took place at Garden of Christus ~ Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, North Battleford, SK.
