ANNE LOUISE GILKER (SCOTT) born in Nelson on Sept. 29th 1917 passed away on June 2, 2010 in Kalso Victorian Hospital. She married Robert (Bob) Gilker in 1936 and they spent most of their lives in Kaslo. Anne's working career was varied, she worked for Dr. Marion Irwin as a receptionist, for the Canadian postal service, and started the local Sear's office with her daughter Roberta Garrett. Family and friends were the centre of her life and she showered them with her generosity, kindness, hospitality and love. Anne was pre-deceased by her husband Bob, her parents, brothers and their wives, George (Phyllis), Verdun (Jean) and sisters and their husbands Kitty (Ted) Youngberg, Elone (Roy) McKay and Myrtle (Dave) Matthews and grandsons Gordon Garrett and Grant Gilker, daughter-in-law Peggy Gilker and niece Lynneth Dahl. She is survived by her children Roberta (Bud) Garrett, Janice (Wilf) Hewat, Gary Gilker, and Colleen (Don) Graham. Ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandsons. Anne was the anchor of her large extended family and her passing leaves us saddened at our great loss. She was greatly loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers donations to the CT scanner at the Kootenay Lake General hospital or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Funeral services are to be held on June 12th at 2pm from St. Mark's Anglican church in Kaslo.
