ALM: In Loving Memory of Beatrice Mari Alm who was born January 11, 1936 at Battleford, SK and passed away July 10, 2011 at North Battleford, SK. Beatrice is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John Alm; children: Larry (Pearl) Alm- family: Kyle (Deanna), Ren & Allie; great-grandchildren: Devlin & Kaitlyn and their mother Eileen Znack; Kathy (Clayton) Berlingette - family: Gerald Mower, Toni & Dallas Berlingette; Lynne (Kelly) Lamb - family: Tamara & Carissa Lamb; Lonnie (Mariann) Alm - family: Lance & Brendon Alm; John (Donna) Alm - family: Kaitlyn, Rochelle, Naomi, Danielle, Brett & Shaunacy Alm; her brother, William (Velma) Bjerkness; sisters-in-law: Cecilia Radchenko, Aina Radchenko & Unita (Carl) Bleiken; numerous nieces and nephews and by special friend Joyce Radchenko. Beatrice was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Mary Bjerkness; in-laws, John and Henrietta Alm; brothers-in-law, Nick Radchenko and Cecil Radchenko and son-in-law, Milton Mower. Beatrice grew up on the family farm and enjoyed helping her parents with the farm chores. She attended Beswick School, 4 miles north of Cando, SK and received her Grade 9. On August 20, 1954 Beatrice married Jack Alm. As a homemaker, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking and also liked to play board games. She liked to travel with her children to watch their ball and hockey games. Beatrice shared a common interest with her husband and that was a love of music. They loved to sing and Beatrice played the organ and guitar. In 1988 Beatrice was diagnosed with Parkinsons. Jack looked after her until December 2003 when she entered Shelby Care Home. After a short stay there and at Battlefords District Care Centre, Beatrice went to River Heights Lodge on July 27, 2005. The Funeral Service was held Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, North Battleford, SK with Rev. Sheldon Gattinger officiating. Shared Memories were given by Brendon Alm and Tamara Lamb. Gifts of Music were shared by Organist, Mrs. Edna Soule, Soloist Lonnie Alm ~ "Because He Lives", Bill & Velma Bjerkness and Darleen Wood & Marjorie Simm ~ "Who Put The Color In The Rose" and Helmay Loewen & John Archer ~ "The Old Country Church" and Hymn Selections were "In The Garden" and "Precious Memories". The Honourary Pallbearers were "All Who Shared In Mom's Life" and Pallbearers were Kyle Alm, Ben Bjerkness, Lance Alm, Brian Radchenko, Brendon Alm and Lance Weum. Memorials are requested to The Auxiliary - River Heights Lodge, 2001 - 99th St, North Battleford, SK S9A 0S3. Interment took place at Willowmoor Cemetery, Battleford District, Saskatchewan. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Battlefords Funeral Service. 446-4200 ____________________________________________________
