The Canadian Junior Hockey League's prospects game has become an annual tradition for hockey fans and scouts for six years. Last week, it was announced two Battlefords North Stars will be part of that tradition.
The prospects game features 40 of the top junior A players from across the country representing Team West and Team East.
Brody Luhing and Kyle Hall will suit up for the west side.
Luhning, a 61" defenceman from Lumsden has eight goals and 14 assists with the North Stars in 26 games this season. Luhning was one of the final cuts from the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL this season after playing 30 games in the WHL last season.
Hall, the Assiniboia product, has 11 goals and four assists in 30 games with the Battlefords North Stars. Hall is one of the many rookies on the North Stars' roster who has had a great start to the season and has started to find some chemistry with his linemates. After the North Stars first line, Hall is fourth on the team in goals and eighth in points.
Joining the two North Stars will be Josh Roach of the Humboldt Broncos and Lucas Froese of the Melville Millionaires.
Team West is comprised of six players from the British Columbia Junior Hockey League, four from the SJHL and Manitoba Junior Hockey League, three from the Alberta Junior Hockey League and one from the Superior International Junior Hockey League.
The prospect game includes two head-to-head games Dec. 7 and 8 in Dauphin, Man.
