The Battlefords AAA Sharks are still locked in a winless funk, as they lost in Prince Albert and twice at home to Saskatoon in a four-day span.
Thursday the Sharks burst out with the game's first three goals against Prince Albert, but they couldn't keep that momentum going and fell 7-3.
Delaney Ross scored three minutes in from Jamie Fedler and added another just over three minutes later on the powerplay. Ross's second of the game and fourth of the season was assisted, once again, by Fedler.
Thirty seconds later, the Sharks went up 3-0 when Monique Wickstrom scored her first goal in a season and a half. Tori Bonnett had the helper.
Later in the first, Prince Albert began the comeback with two powerplay goals. They later added an even strength marker and tied the game 3-3 at the end of the first period.
Neither team scored in the second, but the Prince Albert Bears added four in the third taking a 7-3 win. Danielle Miller scored three straight goals in just over four minutes to give Prince Albert insurance for the win.
Prince Albert was 2/10 on the powerplay while the Sharks were 1/7. Kristen Cromartie was the winning goalie with 22 saves while the Sharks' Hannah Brock and Jacy Akre split time with Akre coming in for the relief effort and suffering the loss after making 25 saves.
The Sharks were back on the ice Saturday, as they hosted the Saskatoon Stars. The Stars came out on a mission and fired 80 shots at the two Sharks' goalies and both stopped 34 shots in the loss.
Sara Greschner led the offence with five goals, Hanna McGillvray and Lauren Zary scored twice for Saskatoon.
Ross was the lone goal scorer for the Battlefords, as they managed to direct put 18 shots at Emily Clark in the Stars' net.
Sunday, the score was closer, but the result was the same. The Stars won 4-1 thanks to three powerplay goals.
Shania Rhinehard scored for the Sharks on the powerplay in the second period, which at the time made it a 3-1 game. Raeanna Kelly and Rachel Trach had the assists on Rhinehart's first goal, as a Shark, in 41 games.
Once again both Sharks' goalies saw action and this time it was Brock taking the loss after stopping 30 of 33 shots.
At the halfway point of the season, the Sharks remain in eighth in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League with a 0-12-0-2 record.
Thursday they will be in action at home against Prince Albert and Saturday they head to Saskatoon.
