It's been a good season and is slowly winding down.
The Humboldt and District Soccer Association has about three weeks left for league games.
"There hasn't been any cancellations because we haven't had (much) rain, so everything's been going good," said Debbie Huber. "It's going awesome."
This year, the league saw a small decline in numbers.
"We are just around the 310 mark," said Huber. "The younger age groups are up, the older age groups are down."
League games will be finished the end of June or beginning of July, but Hurricane Soccer will continue until mid-July, said Huber.
The soccer players are looking forward to their annual mini soccer festival sponsored by the Bank of Montreal on June 11.
The micro to under-12 players participate in the festival, where they get to learn skills, play a couple soccer games and are provided with lunch.
"There's usually a speed gun to see who can kick the fastest and the hardest," which is a big hit with the kids, said Huber.
This year, there will also be a special event for the older players on the same day.
"In conjunction with (the mini festival) we are having the Rural Soccer League Jamboree," said Huber.
Forty under-14 to under-18 players from around the province will be at the jamboree.
The players will have the opportunity to learn new skills from goal keeping to coaching.
"The next day they have like a world cup where they put the kids on teams and play mini games against each other," said Huber.
"It's the first time we're hosting so we're hoping to put on a big show."
