The Battlefords AAA Sharks played their final road trip of the season, as they travelled to Weyburn to play the Golden Wings on the weekend and will be happy to have it over with.
The Golden Wings, who sit third in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League, had their way with the Sharks outscoring them 15-1.
Friday, the Sharks gave up 33 shots in the first period alone and 70 in total losing 10-1. Jessica Sibley had two powerplay goals and an even strength goal in the first period for a hat trick while Kristin Boan had two goals in the first.
Boan completed the hat trick in the second wile Sarah Spence scored another goal for Weyburn.
Rachel Trach scored on a Sharks' powerplay from Delaney Ross and Shania Rhinehart for her third of the season and second in the Sharks last three games.
After trailing 7-1 heading into the third, the Sharks were in more penalty trouble in the final period and gave up another powerplay goal, an even strength goal and shorthanded goal.
Paloma Proszak scored twice while Spence added her second of the game. It was Sibley who led the Weyburn offence with three goals and three assists.
Toni Ross made 11 saves for the win while Hannah Brock played 60 minutes and faced 70 shots in the loss.
Saturday, the Sharks were unable to get the offence going and suffered the 5-0 loss.
The game was tied 0-0 after the first period with Brock facing 19 shots in the opening frame.
Emily Ryan and Alex Blair scored in the second for Weyburn and Spence scored twice in the third with Ryan adding more insurance with 11 seconds left to seal the victory.
The Sharks' season of frustration may have been the cause of a match penalty by one of the Sharks players in the third period. Monique Wickstrom earned a game misconduct, fighting major along with a match penalty and was issued a three-game suspension. Meaning she will not play any more regular season games, but will be back in the lineup once the playoffs begin.
Jane Kish made 12 saves for the shutout while Brock stopped 58. During the two games, the Sharks were 1/12 on the powerplay while Weyburn was 6/18 with the man advantage.
The Sharks will complete their regular season and look for their first win Saturday and Sunday against Weyburn. The regular season will end Tuesday at the Battleford Arena, as the Sharks host the fifth place Prince Albert Bears.
