After the Wilkie Brewers won in Wilkie Wednesday, they were back in action Monday and this time the Lloydminster Junior Redhawks got some redemption.
The Redhawks led 3-0 early and after the Brewers made some defensive mistakes in the fourth inning, the Brewers trailed 7-0.
Steven Latos was effective for the Redhawks, as he picked up the complete game win. Aaron Sittler was saddled with the loss for the Brewers, who didn't appear to be in the game from the beginning.
Once Lloydminster were up 9-0, Wilkie scored two runs in the sixth inning, but the Redhawks added two more runs in the sixth to secure the 10-2 win.
In all three meetings this season, including the regular season matchup, the closest game was a 7-1 game with Wilkie winning two of three, both on their home turf.
The Brewers and Redhawks were in action Tuesday night for game three with the winner earning a spot in the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League championship.
The winner of Tuesday night's game will play the winner of the other semi final, between the Lloydminster Meridian Twins and Meadow lake White Sox. The Twins lead the series 1-0 and game two is set for Wednesday night in Meadow Lake. Game three, if necessary, goes Thursday back in Lloydminster.
A quick provincial note from the senior A2 provincials, which were held in Kindersley this weekend are still underway, but Meadow Lake nor Kindersley are still playing.
The White Sox and Raiders failed to make the final, as Carnduff and Kenosee were in the championship game. Since the team coming from the B side won the first game of the final in 19 innings the second game never started and could be set for the next weekend.
In the senior A2 provincials, which were held in Saskatoon are in the same situation. The Saskatoon Diggers beat Carlyle in game one of the A-B final and the second game was rained out in the sixth inning.
