Josh Currier has agreed to a new three-year deal with the Saskatchewan Rush, pending league approval.
The club announced the signing Thursday. Currier was acquired by the Rush in a major trade last summer with the Philadelphia Wings, a deal which saw Ben McIntosh go to the Wings. But he has not been able to suit up for the Rush due to the suspension of play.
鈥淚鈥檓 really pleased to announce this signing and to re-introduce Josh to Rush fans,鈥 said General Manager Derek Keenan. 鈥淢ost will remember his outstanding performance against us while playing for Rochester in the 2018 championship finals. I鈥檓 really looking forward to seeing him perform with his new teammates at SaskTel Centre this coming season.鈥
鈥淭he three-year commitment by Josh is important to the long-term plans of the Rush.鈥
Currier scored 62 points, including 34 goals, in 2019 with the Wings and then scored 17 goals and 18 assists for 35 points in 14 games during 2020.
