The Barons hosted the Saskatoon Titans and lost 6-2 Tuesday after winning three rounds against Centre Four Hockey League teams in provincial action.

The Barons trailed 1-0 after the first period, but the Titans turned up the pressure in the second period scoring five goals.

Jared Schmidt and Rhett Lesmeister were the Barons' goal scorers.

Game two goes Sunday in Saskatoon at Harold Latrace.

As for league playoffs, the Barons eliminated Melfort in Centre Four Hockey League action, but the schedule for their series against the first overall Lloydminster team has not been finalized.

The Battlefords Peewee A Barons were also in provincial action Tuesday, as they hosted the La Ronge Braves. The Barons skated to a 9-8 win and will be looking to win the series and advance to the provincials final with a win or tie back in La Ronge Sunday.

The northern final game against the Braves was the Barons first provincial game of the season.
