It isn't exactly a blockbuster right now, but Ken Pearson is already making crucial moves and preparing his roster for the 2011-12 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season.
The North Stars general manager and head coach announced the Battlefords and Yorkton Terriers made a one player for one player trade earlier this week.
The North Stars receive forward Cody Pongracz in exchange for forward Curtis Oliver. Pongracz played with the Saskatoon Contacts in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League last season. He was seventh in the league in scoring with 57 points in 43 games.
Oliver, also a highly skilled midget AAA player, had 39 points in 37 games with the Yellowhead Chiefs of the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League.
Pongracz joins the list of 18-year-old forwards who will compete for roster spots during their rookie seasons in the SJHL. The North Stars signed Tanner Quinn, Tyson Stoesz and Jared Samborski, who also graduated from the midget AAA ranks, earlier this month.
