Midget AA Barons
The Barons score against Watson at the Civic Centre was not recorded at press time, but they are unfortunately at the bottom of the Centre Four Hockey League with a 1-11-0 record. The Barons hosted Unity Wednesday, and will be back in action Jan. 2, as they host Meadow Lake.
Midget Barons
The Barons #2 were scheduled to play the Meadow Lake Colts, and Meadow Lake Storm Sunday and Tuesday and will return after a short break Dec. 30 to play the Colts once again. The Barons #2 record was at 4-3-2 in the STEP League.
The Barons #1 sat just a point back in the standings with a 4-6-1 record and, with a depleted roster, played Spiritwood Sunday.
Next for the Barons is a game in Debden Dec. 29.
Midget Sharks
The Sharks played in Canwood Saturday and lost 7-1. Sunday, in Dodsland, the Sharks lost to West Central 7-4 dropping their record to 3-9-0. The Sharks were also in action Thursday in Biggar. Their next action is Jan. 2 in Canwood.
Bantam AA Barons
The Barons suffered a 6-1 loss to Meadow Lake on the road Saturday and were scheduled to play in Warman Sunday. They wrapped up the 2010 schedule with a home game Wednesday against Unity.
The Barons sit seventh with a 3-6-2 record in the Centre Four Hockey League standings.
Jan. 2 the Barons are back in action, as they travel to Meadow Lake.
Bantam Barons
The Barons STEP League team record reads 2-3-0 and the game scheduled for Friday in Debden hadn't been recorded at press time. The Barons are scheduled to be back in action Jan. 2 with their home tournament set for Jan. 7 to 9.
The Highway 14 Barons team split their games on the weekend, as they beat Eston Sunday in Eston, and lost 5-2 to Kyle in Beechy Saturday.
The Barons were tied for top spot in the league with a 6-2-2 record.
Kelby Swiftwolfe, Connor Manegre and Jesse Odishaw all scored twice in the Eston game while Kevin Bendall and Blake Balysky had single goals. The Saturday goals both came from Bendall.
Bantam Sharks
The Sharks hosted Rosthern Friday at the Agriplex and will resume their schedule against the same team Jan. 2 in Rosthern. The Sharks took a 6-0-1 record into the game with Rosthern, who also sat near the top of the North Saskatchewan Female Midget B Hockey League standings.
Peewee AA Barons
The Barons capped off the first half of the season with a game in Meadow Lake Tuesday. Heading into that game, the Barons were 7-4-2 and in fourth place, just two points back of Lloydminster for second overall.
The Barons resume their regular season Jan. 8 in Humboldt and the following weekend they will host their annual home tournament in the Battlefords.
Peewee Barons
The Barons #4 and #2 teams have the same 5-2-0 records while #3's record is 3-3-0 and #1 have just one win and a 1-8-0 record in the STEP League.
Peewee Sharks
The Battlefords Peewee Sharks' record fell to 8-3-0 after losing 4-3 to Cold Lake. The Sharks suffered their third straight loss in the East Central Alberta Female Hockey League.
The Sharks trailed 4-0 after the first 25 minutes, but managed to score three goals in the second period to make it close. Jordyn Tuck, Morgan Lamontagne and Mishele Tady all had goals, while Melina Johnston picked up two assists.
The Sharks also played Wednesday before taking a break and returning to action in an exhibition game against the AA Atom Barons Jan. 5. The Sharks' regular season continues Jan. 15 against the Lloydminster Wizard Wells.
