It was a penalty filled weekend with two results the Battlefords Midget Stars will hope to soon forget.

The Stars were in Tisdale and lost 4-0 and 9-1.

Saturday, the Trojans scored two powerplay goals in the first, one in the second and one in the third to cruise to the victory.

Regan Santoro faced 29 shots in the loss and was the Stars' game star.

Tisdale was 4/17 on the powerplay while the Stars were 0/11. The Stars had 62 penalty minutes including 30 by Dillon Forbes, who earned 24 minutes on one stoppage Tisdale had 28 minutes of penalties.

Sunday, the two teams were back in action and again it was a feisty affair and another lopsided win for the Trojans.

Just 33 second in, the Trojans' Ty Mclean scored his first of four goals on Blair Mahon and Tisdale rolled from there.

Another even stretch goal and a powerplay goal had the Stars trailing 3-0. Ryne Keller scored the first and last goal for the Stars on the weekend in the final two minutes of the first period. Keller's first of the season was assisted by Blake Young and Dallan Walker.

The shots were nearly even with the Battlefords leading 11-10 after 20 minutes, but the Trojans led 3-1 on the scoreboard.

One powerplay goal and two even strength markers in the second had Tisdale well in front and three more goals, two of which were on the powerplay in the third period sealed the 9-1 win for Tisdale.

Tisdale were 4/13 with the man advantage while the Stars were held off the board on five opportunities. The Stars recorded 44 more penalties minutes making the weekend total 108 in 120 minutes played. Tisdale had 16 penalty minutes Sunday.

The Stars are hoping to put the upsetting weekend behind them, as they host the 0-7-0-0 Notre Dame Hounds Saturday and Sunday at the Civic Centre.

The Stars sit in eighth spot with a 2-5-1-0 record.
