The News-Optimist has learned that the board of Twin Rivers Curling Club has scheduled a meeting for Thursday evening, Jan. 14, to decide the fate of the curling season.
This comes in the wake of the extension of current public health guidelines to Jan. 29. That announcement from the province means the current curling season continues to be on ice, with Twin Rivers still closed to competitive curling.
The question for the board is whether to close now, or continue planning for the resumption of what would be a shortened season should restrictions be lifted. An email has also been sent out to members for input on what to do.
In a statement on their Facebook page, Twin Rivers has posted the following:
鈥淥ur Board will decide Thurs evening January 14 whether to close for the remainder of the season. This is not a desired choice but may need to be made for the protection of our finances.鈥
