The Maymont Settlers hosted the Radisson Wheat Kings Sunday night and it came down to the final 36 seconds to determine a winner.
Kenton Albert had a hat trick and two assists to lead the Maymont attack. Kinley Sevick scored once and had two helpers, but it was Tyson Poitros's goal with 36 seconds left on a back door pass in the third period that broke the tie and kept Maymont undefeated in four games.
Shane Chicoine was the winning goalie for the Settlers while Nathan Wurst took the loss.
Dana Derbowka scored three times and Joey Mychan and Trevor Dutchak had a goal each for Radisson in the 6-5 loss.
The other game recorded on the weekend was another close game with Radisson edging the Battleford Beaver Blues in Battleford.
The final score was 5-3 and Wurst was the winning goalie. Glenn Heidt was in net for the Beaver Blues.
Troy Rookes scored twice for Radisson and Cam Stott, Mychan and Derbowka had single markers.
All Battleford's goals came in the first period as Blaine Weber, Jon Kacher and Brett Michnik had goals for the home team.
The action resumes Dec. 28 with Maymont at Radisson and Dec. 30 Saulteaux is at Battleford.
