The first two rounds of the Men's Mid-Amateur Championships in Lloydminster were dry, but the next two may not be.
If the thunderstorms expected for Lloydminster do disperse it will be another great day of golfing for three men from the Northwest at the championship.
After the second round of the Mid-Amateur Championship, Brett Harrison of Maidstone sat in 18th and 17 shots off the lead. Harrison turned in a nine over par 81 Tuesday, but improved on that Wednesday shooting 76 at the Lloydminster Golf and Country Club.
Dwayne Johnston of North Battleford also fired a +9 after the first 18 holes Tuesday and improved by three strokes Wednesday with a 78. Johnson sits at +15 and tied for 19th.
The final local golfer of the 54 men competing is Graham Campbell of Battleford. Campbell also shot an 81 Tuesday and followed that up with an 82 Wednesday and sits tied for 27th.
The men's leader after two rounds was Cadmus Delorme of Cowessess, who shot back-to-back 70s.
Campbell, Johnston and Harrison were all scheduled to hit the links Thursday morning after 9 a.m. and no scores were reported at press time.
Along with the amateur men out on the course, some junior golfers also competed in provincial championship golf tournaments last week.
The junior golfers were out in full swing for the SGI Canada Saskatchewan Junior Championship in Swift Current and Justin Wood was the top local from the area. The Unity golfer recorded scores of 67, 76, 76 and 70 to hold fifth place.
Tyler Wilson of North Battleford was 22nd after firing scores of 76, 79, 76 and 78 on Chinook Golf Course.
