The sanctioned horseshoe tournament in Saskatoon Sept. 10 was a success for a number of the local club members.

Frank Ironstand was the big winner, as he earned two first place finishes. Ironstand was first in class E singles and first in class B doubles, as he was paired with Lorretta Richmond of Delisle.

In mixed class D singles, first place went to Eileen Kozakowich, who also was second in the class B doubles event, as she was teamed up with Sharleen Andersen of Whitewood.

Howard Weitzel, was the winner of the men's class A singles event last Saturday while Marg Kemp captured third place in the ladies' class B event.

The horseshoe season is drawing to a close, but the club members will still be playing until the end of September and anyone from seven to 90 is encouraged to show up and try horseshoes with the Battlefords Horseshoe Club for a minimal fee.
