Ground and pound is common football strategy and the North Battleford Comprehensive High School Junior Vikings used the strategy to perfection against Prince Albert Carlton.

According to the Vikings' coaching staff their defensive and offensive lines dominated their opponents in the trenches and that was key to a 34-18 win Sept. 22.

Dion Tederoff led the way offensively as he ran for two touchdowns, one a 70-yard rumble and the other a 46-yard run. Steven Harriott scored the team's first touchdown on a 27-yard end around and Taylor Reiley ran in a 55-yard touchdown as well.

On the defensive side of the ball, Denzyl Gopher was the lone Viking with an interception. The coaching staff also made note of the best hit, which was delivered by Harland Favel, the best sack went to Grady Nash and the best tackle was made by Dakota Stone.

The Junior Vikings will play their first and last home game of the season Wednesday against Prince Albert St. Mary's at Beaver Lions Stadium.
