It was a hectic weekend of basketball and volleyball action at NationsWEST Field House in North Battleford over the weekend. It was the return of the annual D. Spyglass Above the Rim Shootout, an annual tournament featuring teams across western Canada.
The accompanying photos are from the finals of the men’s basketball tournament on Sunday, won by the Avengers over runners-up Wet Like Watta by a 74-66 final score.
There was also tournament action featuring women’s basketball and, for the first time, women’s volleyball over the weekend tournament.
This year marked the return of the popular tournament, which was forced to take 2020 off due to pandemic restrictions throughout the summer like most other events in the province.

Mens Division (10 teams):
First place: Avengers. Second place: Wet Like Watta. Third place: Kaini- Huskies.
Womens Division:
First place: Kaini-Ladies. Second place: Sask-United. Third place: Brandy's Squad.
Volleyball:
First place: Team Chaos. Second place: Hustlers.
