In less than a week, two former Boston Bruin greats will be in the Battlefords for the North Battleford Golf and Country Club's Celebrity Sportsman Fundraiser.
Gerry Cheevers and Wayne Cashman, former members of the Boston Bruins, will be on hand to help raise money for three separate organizations in the Battlefords.
The first sportsman fundraiser of its kind at the golf course includes an autograph session from at the North Battleford Golf and Country Club Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. The proceeds from that event go to the Nico Hawryliw Fund.
Monday, presents a full day of events in North Battleford. Starting at 7 a.m. there will be breakfast at the Gold Ridge Centre. The price is $50 per person and Cheevers and Cashman will be there to meet and greet fans.
At 10:30 a.m. the fun golf scramble will take place at the North Battleford Gold and Country Club. Registration is СÀ¶ÊÓƵ accepted at the Proshop for $150 per person.
In the evening, beginning at 6 p.m., there will be a cocktail hour and supper at the Gold Ridge Centre. Cheevers and Cashman will be the guest speakers at the event with Kevin Waugh of CTV Sports in Saskatoon as the MC for the evening. Along with supper and the speakers there will also be a silent and live auction with the proceeds from Saturday's events going to the Donate to Irrigate project at NBGCC and the CUPlex Raise the Roof campaign.
Tickets to each event are sold separately and the response from the public has been great, but the hope is now the final push in the final week leading up to the major fundraiser maybe just what this event needs to become an annual success in the Battlefords.
