The Muenster Flyers Midget A Hockey team defeated the Wynyard Monarchs to take the North Central Minor Hockey League Championship in a three-game series. It has been over 30 years since a new banner has been hung in the Muenster Arena - the last was when a Bantam team won their league in 1979. The last time the Muenster Midgets were league champions was in 1968. The team is comprised of players from theMuenster, Englefeld, St. Gregor, Anaheim and Humboldt areas.
