The playoffs continued Wednesday night in the Battlefords and District Ladies' Fastball League.

Four teams were in action in two games at the Battleford Flats in the double-elimination format tournament. The key game came in the top bracket as the Midget Bandits beat the Unity Midget Panthers by a 12-3 score.

Unity scored in the first, the fourth and again in the fifth. but were no match for the Bandits, who scored four in the fifth and four in the seventh to get the victory. Sydney Rempel pitched for the Bandits while Chelsea Robertson, McKenna Heintz and Trislyn Isaac all tried in vain to stop the Bandits.

The Midget Bandits and unbeaten Vipers now meet Monday, July 11 in the top bracket of the finals at Battleford Flats. If the undefeated 3-0 Vipers are able to knock off the 3-1 Battleford Midgets, they win the double-elimination title, but a loss would mean a deciding game as it takes two tournament losses to knock a team out.

The other group of Bandits playing Wednesday - the Bantam Bandits - had less luck as they played another Battlefords team, the Survivors, in the bottom half of the playoff bracket.

The Bandits led 1-0 after one inning, but the Survivors scored seven runs in the second, six in the third and four in the seventh and ended up hammering the Bandits by a final score of 17-8 victory.

That means the 2-1 Survivors take on the 3-0 Unity Bantams 2 in their bracket final that will also take place Monday at the Flats, with Unity needing one win to clinch that final.
