Beaver Lakes final series swept

Another hockey league is done for the season. The Beaver Lakes Hockey League, which includes teams from Big River, Glaslyn, Leoville, St. Louis, Shellbrook and Whitefish ended Saturday, as St. Louis beat the Glaslyn North Stars.

Another hockey league is done for the season. The Beaver Lakes Hockey League, which includes teams from Big River, Glaslyn, Leoville, St. Louis, Shellbrook and Whitefish ended Saturday, as St. Louis beat the Glaslyn North Stars.

To get to the final, St. Louis beat Shellbrook three games to one, while Glaslyn swept Leoville 3-0 nothing after they won the survivor series in two straight games over Big River.

In the final series, St. Louis won 6-4 in Glaslyn March 4. The next night, the North Stars fell 6-1.

Back in Glaslyn Saturday, St. Louis skated to a 3-2 win ending the series and earning the upset.

St. Louis was positioned in second place after the regular season, one point back of Glaslyn after each team played 14 games.

It is the second year appearing in the final for the North Stars since returning to senior hockey. Last season, they won the league championsip.
