It was another wild weather weekend in the Battlefords as two more summer storms made their presence felt in the area.
However, neither storm produced the kind of damage associated with the late July storm that flooded basements and caused major damage to the Battlefords.
According to city communications coordinator Mike Halstead, there were no reports of flooded basements after the intense lightning storm that hit the city on Friday night.
However, the system did produce some flooded intersections and a couple of manhole covers popped off. Some broken branches were lying around the city and Halstead reported that a neighbour's tree had fallen down due to the heavy winds.
The system on Sunday produced widespread severe weather in the central part of the province, and there were reports of a funnel cloud seen in the North Battleford area during the afternoon.
The funnel cloud was seen around 3pm, according to the eyewitnesses, but is believed not to have reached the ground or done any damage. Environment Canada has yet to confirm the reports of a funnel cloud.
Elsewhere, it was reported the system dumped rain as well as hail in several parts of northwest and central Saskatchewan.
