ROSE VALLEY – Rose Valley was founded in 1924 and the organizing committee of the 100th birthday party is planning a once-in-a-lifetime party to celebrate this milestone.
Marjorie Zarowny, treasurer for the committee is busy planning with the rest of the volunteers. Zarowny said, “The committee is deeply appreciative of our sponsors and the hard-working volunteers in our community — without volunteers we would not be able to put this event on.”
There are approximately 250 people registered with the deadline for catered meal purchases coming up on May 24. Rose Valley's 100th Birthday Bash Committee plans to leave a legacy of funding behind for the community. The committee has pulled together local volunteers to organize a family-friendly, fun-filled celebration and hope to raise funds for Rose Valley recreational facilities.
“It's a big task and we will need a lot of community support. Net profits from this event will be contributed to the Town of Rose Valley as a legacy fund that will be used for the continued operation and maintenance of recreational facilities like the hall, recreation complex, museum, library and parks in the town,” said Zarowny.
The weekend of July 5 and 6 will be packed with activity and events for everyone. On Friday, July 5, registration will start at 2 p.m. at the Rec Complex lobby. There will be children’s activities in the park west of the Rec Complex. A bouncy house and face painting has been sponsored by the Rose Valley and District Community group.
The organizing committee encourages everyone to check out their local businesses while in town on this weekend. The Rose Valley and District Heritage Museum will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday. Updates will follow once activities are finalized.
Fireworks are planned for Friday night at 10:30 p.m. They will be set off north of the Rec Complex (weather permitting). The street between the school and Rec Complex will be closed to vehicle traffic. There will be beer gardens open throughout the weekend. Saturday, July 6 will host a plethora of activities. It starts with a pancake breakfast, a parade, horse-drawn wagon rides, town-wide walking tour by the Rose Valley Community Spirit Manor. A family friendly slo-pitch tournament is also 小蓝视频 organized and a birthday bash dance with music by DJ Cory Teale on Saturday evening.
The Kings of Nora car show will be on Sunday, July 7 just north of Rose Valley with Johnny Rockstar BBQ Food Truck on site and beer gardens with the Mudd Brothers live band.

The Rose Valley Hotel is no longer renting out rooms, so the committee is recommending people check out airbnbs in the area and of course, hotels / motels in Kelvington, Tisdale and area.

The Rose Valley Campground has only four sites which are rented on a first come first serve basis. Rental details are available on the under the 100th Birthday tab. There will be RV parking on town-owned vacant lands. A map will be posted in June. These spots will be first come first served, with no services and unsupervised parking.
