Suspicious person sighted

North Battleford RCMP are warning the public about numerous complaints they have received concerning a suspicious individual seen in the residential areas during the second week of November.

According to a release issued last week by the RCMP, a man has been knocking on doors in the city, providing a story that he has locked his keys inside his vehicle. The person then asks if he could go inside to use the telephone.

After making a number of faked phone calls, the individual then proceeds to ask if he could borrow some money for a tow truck to open the door of his vehicle. According to police, the individual had provided false phone numbers and addresses in order to evade having to pay his victims back.

One suspect matching the description from complainants has already been identified and spoken to by police. The RCMP adds that they want to remind the public to be cautious in who they let into their homes.
