Rural community organizations are constantly challenged to come up with innovative ways of fundraising. Cash lotto makes a great fundraiser and the Blaine Lake Senior Citizen's organization has accepted it as a means of generating the much needed funding for the renovations and expansion of the seniors' centre. The Main Street location has always been an easily accessible venue for the numerous seniors and members of the general public that utilize the facility for meetings and social events.

All proceeds of the lotto will go towards the seniors' centre renovation and expansion project. The existing building will be receiving a facelift while the expansion adjoining the building will double the facility's main level space enabling all the recreational equipment and events to remain on one level. The facility had pool and shuffle board tables but was unable to actually utilize them because one was in the basement and the other required more space than there was available.

Rod Kitter, CJWW radio morning host, will be in Blaine Lake Oct. 12-15 broadcasting live from the 107 Main Street facility to assist with promoting the lotto and community of Blaine Lake. In celebration of Kitter's 30th anniversary with CJWW along with his 50th birthday year, the centre will be providing cake in his honour.

Ticket sales will close at midnight Oct. 15. Tickets are available at local Blaine Lake businesses or you can purchase your ticket by calling the toll free number 1-888-946-2201.
