From noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 11, Crown Cab will be offering a free cab ride, within the Battlefords limits, to any passenger who donates $10 or more to the Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation.
David Materi, who owns Crown Cab says, "It is important to my drivers and I to support to our community and we decided what better way than to contribute to BUH Foundation. Their mandate is to enhance health care through the purchase of medical equipment and staff education family and friends, we all benefit from quality healthcare".
Every passenger who donates will be asked to fill out a donation form, and any donation over $10 will qualify for a charitable tax receipt from BUH Foundation.
"We are very excited about this initiative", says Claudette McGuire, executive director of BUH Foundation. "Crown Cab is a supporter of local health care. In June they donated back any fares received from golfers catching a cab home after the Wayne Pruden Memorial Golf Tournament, and we are delighted that they have approached us again.
"I hope everyone takes advantage of this opportunity, and we are grateful to Crown Cab and contributors for their kindness".
