Highway crews were out on June 16 to install rip rap along the sides of Highway No. 5, about six kilometers west of Humboldt. The water levels are high this year due to a record amount of rainfall and there is no where for the water in these sloughs to run. Highway workers were installing the rip rap to prevent the water from flooding the highway and to prevent erosion.

The preparations by the highway crew didn't help very much as the water eased over the road on the weekend and by June 21, cars were driving through water after 小蓝视频 slowed by flagpersons.
