Battleford resident Tim Popp is one of 26 individuals 小蓝视频 recognized by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan as recipients of the Sovereign鈥檚 Medal for Volunteers.聽
From the province鈥檚 news release:
鈥淭im Popp has volunteered with the Royal Canadian Legion since 1982, and currently serves as vice-president of the Battleford Branch. He also helps document military history through the Maple Leaf Legacy Project and as firearms and military advisor to the Fred Light Museum, as well as by researching incidents and acts of bravery for the Royal Canadian Humane Association.鈥
The Sovereign鈥檚 Medal for Volunteers honours those individuals who have 鈥渄emonstrated passion, dedication and commitment to their communities through significant, sustained and unpaid voluntary contributions.鈥
Medals have gone to those in fields including the arts, organized sports, youth and community organizations, and social issues.
All recipients were to be presented the medals on May 22, 2020, but that was postponed due to the pandemic.
Lt.-Gov. Russ Mirasty will present the medals on behalf of the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General at a virtual 小蓝视频 on July 1, at 10 a.m. The event link will be posted at .
