SASKATOON - A police dog helped police find a suspect following a robbery in Saskatoon.
On Sept. 7 at approximately 8:10 a.m., police were called to the 1100 block of 22nd Street West for a report of a male robbing a business with a firearm.
The suspect had fled the scene before police arrival; however, officers spoke with staff and obtained video surveillance of the incident. With the assistance of the Saskatoon Police Service Canine Unit, a K9 track was conducted. The suspect was located a short distance away from the initial scene.
After investigating, police determined the firearm used in the robbery was an imitation.
A 19-year-old man is facing charges relating to possession of a weapon, concealing a weapon, and robbery.
