ONION LAKE - Onion Lake RCMP have arrested Philip Heathen, 38, after conducting a traffic stop on an ATV which had been previously reported as stolen.
During the stop Nov. 29, the adult male operator of the ATV provided false identification information and refused to comply with officers. After a brief altercation with officers, the man was arrested. No serious injuries were sustained during the arrest and all involved received medical assessment.
Upon arrest, officers located and seized:
- approximately 25 grams of cocaine, divided into 25 packages
- 180 grams of methamphetamine
- 68 tablets of codeine
- three cellular phones
- a large sum of Canadian currency
Heathen, from Onion Lake, has been charged with:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Codeine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000
- Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000
- Resist a Peace Officer
- Obstruct a Peace Officer
- Personate with Intent to Avoid Arrest
- Assault a Peace Officer
- two counts, Fail to Comply with Release Order,
- Operate a Conveyance while Prohibited
Heathen made his first court appearance via telephone in Lloydminster Saskatchewan Provincial Court on Tuesday.
