The City of North Battleford has seized two dogs from a residence on the east side of the city.
The dogs were taken into custody by special constables, assisted by the Saskatchean SPCA and the RCMP, on the morning of Dec. 7.
According to a press release, the investigation was initiated after complaints by concerned citizens indicated the animals were 小蓝视频 neglected. The investigation resulted in an SPCA issued warrant to enter the properties and seize the animals.
"The poor dogs had not been properly cared for at all," said Special Constable Jerry Koliniak. "We need the public to be diligent and report abuse to us. Owning animals in North Battleford is a privilege, not a right."
Fire Chief Pat MacIsaac oversees Bylaw Enforcement and the special constables.
"The special constables have a responsibility to ensure the well 小蓝视频 of animals and they work closely with the SPCA in order to carry out that mandate," said MacIsaac.
The animals are 小蓝视频 evaluated and treated by a veterinarian.
