A man accused of discharging a firearm inside a home on Onion Lake Cree Nation, Sask., was denied bail.
Gerome Christopher Okemow, 20, from Onion Lake Cree Nation, had an appearance in Lloydminster Provincial Court May 19. His show cause hearing was held on April 26 and the judge had said he was reserving the court鈥檚 decision. The details of what is said during show cause hearings can鈥檛 be published.
Lane Ryder Pahtayken, 23, of Onion Lake, is also charged in the incident. He appears in court again on May 27.
According to Onion Lake RCMP, shots were fired at a home at about 9:30 a.m. on April 10. The people inside fled to a nearby residence and weren鈥檛 harmed.
Alberta RCMP arrested Pahtayken and Okemow a few hours later near Kitscoty.
Pahtayken was charged with seven firearms-related offences, flight from a peace officer, dangerous driving, theft of a truck, mischief over $5,000, damage to property, and failing to comply with an undertaking. He also has charges from February including assault, obstruction and breach of an undertaking.
Okemow is charged with five firearms-related offences, flight from a peace officer, dangerous driving, theft of a truck, mischief over $5,000, and damage to property.
The charges against the two haven鈥檛 been proven in court.
