HUMBOLDT – The start of the 2024-25 school year for students in the Horizon School division will be on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and the last day will be on Thursday. June 26.
In 2024, students and staff will not have school on National Truth and Reconciliation Day. Horizon School division staff that are not based in schools will be at work that day, and will be able to participate in learning opportunities that focus on the day's importance, said Kevin Garinger, Director of Education for the division. “Our schools and division do a great job of engaging in the importance of truth and reconciliation throughout the school year.”
Thanksgiving weekend will see the students off on Monday, Oct. 14. The Christmas break will start Monday, Dec. 23 and students will be back in classes on Tuesday, Jan. 7. February break will begin on Monday, Feb. 17 until the 21. Easter break will start on Good Friday, April 18 and the students will be back in classes on Tuesday, April 29. There are 89 instructional days in both semesters 1 and 2 for a total of 178 days. Departmental exams run from Jan. 27 to 30 and June 23 to 26.
