NIPAWIN — Homeowners within a 75-metre radius of a proposed dog park location will be consulted about the possible development.
Nipawin council is looking at developing the park along Lynn Street between 11th and 12th Avenue West. They approved the resolution for consultation at its Sept. 14 meeting
Following years of discussing the project, this site has been tentatively chosen but the location is not set in stone and will depend on residential feelings towards the park. Consultation with the residents will decide the next steps with the plan, which include coming back to council for further discussion on the location and starting a fundraising effort, said Chelsea Corrigan, the parks and recreation director.
“That will give the [Nipawin Dog Park Committee] a go-forward plan of starting to fundraise because the committee does plan to raise the funds for the fence and different pieces of equipment within the dog park.”
