Saskatchewan chiropractors have a goal to collect 10,000 pairs of socks for those who need them this winter.

Chiropractors across Saskatchewan are aiming to collect 10,000 pairs of socks for the fifth annual Toasty Toes Sock Drive and distribute them in partnership with The Salvation Army.

According to a press release, Saskatchewan chiropractors believe that no one should have to suffer through the province’s coldest months without socks on their feet.

“Collecting and donating socks is one of the ways we can help those in our communities, especially given the challenges of the last 18 months. Saskatchewan chiropractors are proud to rally around this cause,” says Dr. Jennifer Beggs, president of the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan.

According to chiropractors, socks are an incredibly important item for those trying to navigate the harsh winters in Saskatchewan. Agencies that support individuals and families with limited means say they can never have too many quality socks to distribute throughout the winter months.

Over the last four years of this campaign, Saskatchewan chiropractors and their patients have collected more than 67,000 pairs of socks. Each year, the socks are donated to The Salvation Army, who distribute them throughout the province to people who need them most.

“The Salvation Army Prairie Division is excited and humbled to be part of Toasty Toes for its fifth year. The ongoing efforts of the Chiropractor's Association of Saskatchewan not only make a huge difference in the lives of those in need, but also show how a sense of community can achieve great things,” says Blair Malazdrewich, divisional communications manager, The Salvation Army Prairie Division.

Participating chiropractic clinics will collect new pairs and packages of socks until Nov. 27.
