The RM of Frenchman Butte council, together with representatives from the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities attended the opening of the Larre Bridge Dec. 2.
The new structure, which spans 32 feet and is constructed of concrete and steel, replaces a 20-foot wide timber bridge that was built in 1975. With increased oilfield traffic and agriculture machinery growing in size a new bridge was a necessary update to ensure safety to those using it.
The Larre Bridge is one of the RM of Frenchman Butte's five road projects in 2010 and was partially funded by the SARM Municipal Roads for the Economy Program.
