Take a break some afternoon in the near future to experience the newest exhibition in the Main Salon of the Chapel Gallery.
"Meditations" features works by painter Jean E. Sonmor and will be on display until Aug. 30. Works by this emerging Saskatchewan artist were part of the acclaimed "Inspired by the Land" multi-media exhibition. Each piece in this new collection is an intimate examination of an element in nature. Whether its trees, butterflies or rocks, each piece has an absorbing amount of detail giving viewers much to contemplate.
Instead of looking straight ahead, Sonmor looks at the ground when she takes her nature walks. This gives her a unique perspective about the importance of the smaller things that make up each picture's tableau.
An exhibition reception will be hosted at the Chapel Gallery Friday, July 8 from 6 p.m. to10 p.m. This is your opportunity to meet Sonmor and learn more about her appreciation of nature and how it informs her work.
