The St. Peter鈥檚 Chorus have put a tidy little bow on their 50th year with their 2017 Advent Celebrations.

The Chorus sang their mix of traditional and modern Christmas tunes with performances in Drake on Dec. 8 and St. Augustine Church in Humboldt on Dec. 10.

Proceeds from the Drake concert went to the Lanigan and District Food Bank.

Chorus Director, Maxine Moore, says both shows were very well received with wonderful audiences in both locations.

While she did not have an exact count, Moore says the crowd in Humboldt was well over 250, which she is very happy with.

With the chorus 小蓝视频 on par and the instrumental accompaniment by Michele and Kevin Ackerman and Dale Avison 小蓝视频 a great addition to the show, Moore says she was also very happy with the performance itself.

It is a process picking the songs that the chorus will be performing, says Moore, but a surprise encore song capped off the performance nicely with everyone leaving with a big smile, she says.

While Deck the Halls did not fit in with the Advent story, says Moore, it was still a fun piece to include with Fa La La additions of 1812 Overture, Danube Waltz, Beethoven鈥檚 Fifth Symphony, and William Tell Overture thrown in.

Moore appreciates everyone coming out to enjoy the show and her choir for all their hard work including driving from the area to get to rehearsals and performances.

鈥淚t鈥檚 wonderful to share the music and to have everyone with us.鈥

By definition and throughout the chorus鈥檚 history they will always be a community choir, says Moore.

This means that everyone is invited to be a part of it.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a community choir so that is exactly what it is is a sense of community.鈥
